NASA Space Apps Challenge, one of the largest hackathons held at an international level, will take place on 2-4 October 2020. The event, supported by the Romanian Space Agency (ROSA) will take place online, the participating locations in Romania being Cluj-Napoca (for the fifth time) and Bucharest (the third time).

The Institute of Space Sciences is taking part in the International Symposium of the LISA Mission Collaboration, the first space-based gravitational wave observatory, to be built and launched by the European Space Agency (ESA) in collaboration with the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). The Romanian Space Agency (ROSA) is directly involved and has been supporting Romanian participation in the LISA Mission Consortium ever since the beginning and the Institute of Space Sciences is a member of the collaboration since 2018.

30 June is the International Asteroid Day, a United Nations recognised international event, organised for raising awareness on the risks of asteroid impacts and the methods to protect the Earth. The event was established on this date in the memory of the Tunguska, Siberia impact that took place in 1908, and was the largest asteroid impact in the recent history of the Earth.
