The significant increase in number of satellites in LEO (e.g. megaconstellations) poses a significant risk of collision that would create a cascading chain of events potentially leading to a catastrophic creation of space debris. Recent events where high chances of collision were observed, show the complexity of the operations for constellation management and collision avoidance. The space situation awareness forums are working to find suitable solutions for this problem and eventually, it is possible, that policies will be enforced prior to launch in order to ensure that operators have control of their satellites and they know their position and velocity precisely not only in the past, but also in the future. For this reason ESA proposed in the past the concept of guaranteed positioning and autonomous manoeuvre, which aims to have autonomous control of the satellite within a corridor in space, but there are no integrity concepts to guarantee that possible issues (e.g. current position is outside protection limits) are identified and immediately flagged/corrected. It is necessary to perform an assessment of the level of reliability which can be achieved by space receivers for guaranteed positioning and autonomous manoeuvre in space corridor concept and define the integrity concept related to it. This risk assessment analysis will be similar to what is normally performed in aviation and railway to provide a level of integrity of the position and velocity solution (as well as time). This activity is paramount in order to have a dossier for a potential standardization of the process that might be a solution for congestion of LEO orbit. The activity encompasses the following tasks :- Analysis of error contributions current mitigations.- Risk analysis and definition of boundary requirements for guaranteed position and velocity.- Definition of algorithms/techniques to guarantee position and velocity computation within defined limits and identification of corner cases.- Definition and breadboard of algorithms to bound errors and build integrity flags.Software shall be delivered under an ESA Software community License, so that any individuals or entities within ESA member states can access to it and can provide update to the community of users.
