The full programme of the Big Data from Space Conference, taking place from 18 to 20 May 2021, is now available online.
The President of the Romanian Space Agency (ROSA), Dr. Phys Marius-Ioan Piso will deliver the welcome speech to the conference that is organised by the European Space Agency (ESA), the Joint Research Centre (European Commission), and the European Union Satellite Centre (SatCen), with the help of ROSA and the University Politehnica of Bucharest (UPB). The opening session of the conference will feature speakers such as Josef Aschbacher — Director General of the ESA, Stephen Quest — Director General of the JRC and Sorin Ducaru — Director General of SatCen.
The 2021 online edition of the Big Data from Space conference will emphasise not only the insights that can be retrieved from Big Data from Space but also the exploitation of these insights for foresight. Our capacity for foreseeing is becoming increasingly important given the pace at which our world is changing, because Space not only helps us understand what is happening outside the Earth, but also what is happening on our planet.
Along with prediction algorithms, the Big Data from Space 2021 conference will feature topics related to science, technologies used for real-time data analysis, security, defence and development of artificial intelligence and quantum computing.
The conference was originally planned to be hosted by University Politehnica of Bucharest, but will take place online.
