Start for the "Nature4Decision-making (N4D)" project

on 14 April 2015

The National Environmental Protection Agency, headquartered in Splaiul Independenței no. 294, postal code 060031, Bucharest, runs since 16.02.2015 the project "Demonstrating and promoting natural values, to support the decision-making process in Romania" within the RO02 Programme - Biodiversity and ecosystem services, financed by the Financial Mechanism of the European Economic Area (EEA) 2009-2014.

The project activities will be implemented by the National Environmental Protection Agency as the promoter of the project, together with its partners: The Norwegian Institute for Nature Research (NINA), WWF Romania and the Romanian Space Agency (ROSA).

The total eligible value of the project is 3.386.122 Euro, of which 2.878.203,70 Euro represents the 85% grant provided through the European Economic Area Financial Mechanism and 507.918,30 Euro represents the 15% financing from the national budget.

The main objective of the project is to achieve the mapping and biophysical evaluation at a national level of ecosystems and services provided by ecosystems selected according to the process of Mapping and Assessment of Ecosystems and their Services (MAES) that is ongoing in the European Union.

The date of completion of the "Demonstrating and promoting natural values, to support the decision-making process in Romania (Nature4Decision-making - N4D)" project is April 30, 2016.
