VIP-GRAN aims at conducting experiments that study the dynamical and statistical properties of granular media in a micro-gravity environment, from dilute to dense regimes. The objective of the activity is to design and build an instrument and a first set of experiment cells that allow to study, on board the ISS, convection, segregation, and jamming phenomena when subjecting granular media to vibrations without the symmetry-breaking influence of gravity. Phase B2 aims at defining the accommodation on-board the ISS and the preliminary design of the instrument, making use as much as possible of the design of the existing VIP-GRAN instrument for parabolic flight. Phases C/D shall result in ground and flight models of the instrument, including a first set of experiment cells, to perform science experiments on-board the ISS.In the frame of this procurement, the Agency issued an Experiment Scientific Requirements (ESR) Consultation with a briefing meeting that took place on 20 July2017. The purpose of this consultation was to collect comments and questions from industry concerning the ESR Document applicable to this activity.
