Objectives: The objectives are to investigate the potential, feasibility, of Ag sintering as a mounting medium and method for high power devices and to demonstrate the function and robustness of the technology for flight applications.Description: Today device mounting with adhesives or brazed is limited in their thermal performances and process temperature. Hi power devices with new (GaN) technologies are pushing the current mounting and thermal management methods to the limits, it is therefore required to investigate potential improvement technologies, in this case having been developedand deployed in the automotive sector. Ag sintering is a process, which uses force/pressure/time at comparatively low temperatures to attach die to substrates or heat sinks. Initially the apparent claims for performance and applicability of the process shall be confirmed, then subsequently the process shall be demonstrated onsuitable materials to confirm the findings, then the manufactured parts will be exposedto component level testing to validate the construction method.Procurement Policy: C(2) = A relevant participation (in terms of quality and quantity) of non-primes (incl.
