The Sentinel-5 Precursor (S-5P) will represent the first of a series of atmospheric sounding missions within the Copernicus Programme. With focus on the chemical composition of the Troposphere, and covering spectral bands in the ultra-violet, visible, near- and shortwave infrared ranges, S-5P will provide global monitoring capabilities for air quality and climate. The objectives of this procurement are the industrial service needed to perform the S-5P acquisition service within the Phase-E2, following the satellite commissioning, covering S-5P mission Ramp-Up and Routine Operations phases from Launch + 6 months for a period of 5 years. The Acquisition service will be responsible for S-5P X-band downlink planning, as part of the mission planning, and operations of sufficient core ground stations to ensure the complete downlink of the S-5P data acquired during each orbit. The task therefore will include station scheduling and ground stations co-ordination. The Acquisition service includes S-5P X-band chain demodulation and front-end processing. The Near Real Time (NRT) processing is managed at the Payload Data Ground Segment (PDGS) within the Processing and Archive Centre (PAC) and is thus outside the scope of the activities required under this procurement. The Acquisition Service is required to operate within the timeliness constraints established by the apportionment of the overall Near Real Time (NRT) requirement for the global Sentinel-5P Level 2 data. The service timeliness includes / implies performances of the network for guaranteeing data transfer for the PDGS. Overall, the procurement will address-X band acquisition services for Sentinel-5P-X band acquisition services for other Sentinels as an optional activity- S band uplink and downlink Services for any Sentinel as optional activities This ITT is funded by the Copernicus Programme and will be open exclusively to economic operators which have their registered office in an EU Member State or Iceland or Norway. In order to access the ITT Package from EMITS, a bidder must be registered in EMITS as a potential ESA supplier. Any bidder which is not yet registered with ESA as a potential supplier must complete the online questionnaire on EMITS, under the tab Entity registration. Further information on the registration process can be found in ESA’s INDUSTRY PORTAL available at: http://www.esa.int/About_Us/Business_with_ESA While the registration process is underway, bidders may access the ITT Package through ESA’s dedicated Copernicus server, which is accessible at: https://copernicus-emits.esa.int/ Bidders are informed that they must be registered in EMITS before they can submit a proposal.
