The objective of ARTES ScyLight is to address the development and use of innovative optical technologies for satellite communication as well as new market opportunities for optical communication technologies, and support industry to develop or seize related market opportunities. The ScyLight will therefore cover the development and evolution of optical communication technologies and suitableflight opportunities for their in-orbit verification.ScyLight will concentrate European and Canadian efforts on optical communication technologies in the following areas:a) Optical Communication Terminal Technology;b) Intra-Satellite Photonics/ Optical Payloads;c) Quantum Cryptography Technologies and initial services demonstration.
