The objective is to develop a deliver a tested Pulsating Heat Pipe engineering model (EM) that is embedded within a Glass Fiber Reinforced Polymer (GFRP) and/or a Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer (CFRP) substrate.Within the proposed development activity, the following aspects shall be considered:1. Review of the state of the art / literature research 2. Review of requirements for various space applications3. Material and fluid selection suitable to be embedded into glass and carbon reinforced substrates and to be operated at the desired temperature range4. Manufacturing and testing of substrates coupons with embedded Pipes 5. Design, manufacturing and performance testing of Pulsating Heat Pipe prototypes6. Detailed design and manufacturing of an engineering model embedded into a GFRP and/or CFRP and tested under relevant environments.Procurement Policy: C(1) = Activity restricted to non-prime contractors (incl. SMEs). For additional information please go to EMITS news “Industrial Policy measures for non-primes, SMEs and RD entities in ESA programmes”.
