Objectives of the Activity: The objective of this activity is to develop reliable tools, for physics-based modelling of the P-S-P interactions in PBMAM of space hardware. The tools will encompass: simulations of melt pool behaviour, microstructure simulations based on previously calculated melt pool characteristics, selected materials mechanical properties simulation, with the inputs from previously calculated melt pool and microstructure.The activity intends to combine state of the art numerical simulation techniques with experimental validation, to verify the modelling tools performance – comparing virtual specimens obtained by modelling and their physical counterparts. An assessment of the potential economic and technological benefits of using the modelling tools andrecommendations for the future developments will be made. The TRL at the end of the activity shall be 3 as defined in [AD1].
