The PLAnetary Transits and Oscillations of stars mission (PLATO) is the M3 mission in ESA’s Cosmic Vision 2015-2025 Programme. The scientific payload consists of 24 normal cameras (N-Cameras) and 2 fast cameras (F-Cameras) with CCDs (charged coupled device and its analogue interface flexible harness) in their focal planes, operating in white light and providing a very wide field of view. The two fast cameras will be used both for science goals, i.e. also investigate brighter stars, and as fine guidance sensors of the spacecraft attitude control system. Each camera includes four CCDs that are operated in full-frame mode for the normal cameras and in frame-transfer mode for the fast cameras. The scientific payload is complemented by the associated digital and analogue electronics. As part of the mission implementation the Agency will deliver the Ancillary Electronic Units (AEU) to the payload consortium, which is subject of the present procurement action. The Ancillary Electronics Units, are used to power the associated Camera Front End Electronic with regulated secondary voltages, and of a synchronisation module used to have a fully synchronised acquisition by all the cameras. Normal cameras are grouped together in 2 boxes (i.e. 2 x N-AEU). The two fast cameras are supplied by the F-AEU box which contains the synchronization module. The procurement foresees the development, verification activities and tests of two (2) Engineering Models, two (2) Qualification Engineering Models, three (3) Flight Models, spares, MTDs and relevant GSEs.
