A user-tailored GNSS performance indicator has been identified as a high-priority development in order to meet growing end user needs in this domain. A concept and initial implementation has been developed within the context of the Ionospheric Weather Expert Service Centre. This activity will constitute a full design and implementation of a GNSS performance indicator application, which will address multiple representative use-cases and provide SWE end users with an indication of current GNSS uncertainties resulting from ionospheric conditions. This will be implemented based on European (including high-latitude) products along with global maps.An overall numerical estimate of GNSS positioning uncertainty resulting from ionospheric conditions at the users location will be provided, along with the possibility to view and retrieve the time evolution of this uncertainty in numerical and chart form. It will be possible to alert users in the case of major disturbances, based on pre-agreed thresholds.
