This activity will support the deployment of interfaces to existing robotic telescopes and demonstrate the robustness of remote automated operation. Two half-metre class telescopes on robotic mounts have been integrated in the frame of a technology development programme. Following an in-factory qualification programme, under human supervision and involving commercial, off-the-shelf processingsoftware, for full-end autonomy and robustness testing, the support of the deployment to suitable sites is the task of this activity. The deployment will ensure adequate service level agreements with the site operator and dual use by the SST and NEO segments. Thedeployment and test programme will be conducted in two steps, starting with semi-staffed operations (casual first- and second-line maintenance by a person on site) followed by full autonomous operations. Further robotic telescopes shall be considered as well. Forall considered sensors, this activity will characterise the availability, optimise the monitoring and control efforts and associated interface definitions and characterise the performance envelope.
