The competitiveness of European space industry and the readiness of new enabling technologies to be used in operational missions depends upon their timely in-orbit demonstration.Once identified a suitable match between a technology experiment and a flight opportunity, this activity will provide the Agency with a framework to carry rapid assessment and accommodation studies for the technologyexperiment payload. The studies will identify and detail mission requirements, electrical interface compatibility, mass and dimensions suitability and, potential modifications to the carrier spacecraft. In case of complex payload designs and/or interface definitions requiring substantial manpower, an accommodation study will be performed within this framework activity. Accommodation studies may also be supported by exploiting the ESTEC CDF infrastructure for concurrent engineering sessions involving all parties. For simpleinterfaces, organising technical interface meetings between payload developer and carrier opportunity provider might be sufficient.Positive results of the accommodation feasibility studies will lead to the selection of TFOs for implementation.
