System studies (2020-2021) shall be the first step of a preparatory programme (-2023) supporting decisions by 2023 for any system implementation and deployment (2024-2030). Systems targeted: The studies shall be open for industry to consider all technologies and architectural options (e.g. different orbits) and shall take full benefit from the high level of innovation in the space sector. User segments targeted : This study is focused on those communications services that are essential to governmental operations and tosupport infrastructures and applications that are critical to the economy, society, security and sovereignty: Each study shall be open for industry to consider all (preferred) or a substantial subset of the following user segments.- Transport: Aviation, Maritime and Land. This comprises air traffic management and related services, maritime safety including related surveillance, railsways and other land-based transport including transport of dangerous goods- Critical Infrastructure: More resilient telecommunication networks in support to critical infrastructures representing systematic risks such as for energy and water supply and for the digital economy at large- Governmental: Services such as related to civil protection and border control- Space (optional) : Communication systems and services for spacecraft and space missions of any kind as user of secure Satcom solutions.
