NAVISP-EL1-053 REAL-TIME BIG DATA PROCESSING FOR GNSS INTEGRITY – EXPRO+
20, May 2021

ESA Open Invitation to Tender: 1-10809
Open Date: 12/05/2021 18:13 CEST
Closing Date: 02/07/2021 13:00 CEST

The main objective of the proposed project is to demonstrate the feasibility of a new concept called “Real-time Big Data Processing for GNSS Integrity”. In this concept, no (or just a few) SBAS RIMS are being used. Users (instead of RIMS) are providing data to a Central Processing Facility (CPF). The CPF uses this data to compute not only global integrity products (overbounding satellite orbit+clock errors) but also local integrity products (overbounding local errors, e.g. caused by Multipath, interference, ionosphere etc.).On the one hand, it is recognized that the typical quality of user data is inferior to the quality of RIMS data. On the other hand, the number of GNSS-users is significantly higher than the number of RIMS stations (there are billions of GNSS-users in the world, while a typical SBAS consists of less than 50 RIMS). It is anticipated that this very large amount of user data will provide integrity products of better quality. Additionally, local integrity products may be feasible.
