Update Reason: Tender issue

Several PL will be embarked on next generation navigation satellites, making antenna accommodation a real issue. In particular, Search and Rescue, legacy GALILEO (including C-band mission uplink), EGNOS, possibly C-band navigation and Inter Satellite Link (ISL) will have to coexist on the same platform. The accommodation issue related to the above mentioned multiple payloads could be simplified if two or more functions could be covered by a single antenna. The activity will investigate several antenna architectures to combine two or more functions in a single antenna sharing the same physical area for easy accommodation on the earth facing side of thespacecraft. Antenna architectures will have to limit possible interference between payloads and take antenna coupling into careful consideration for performance optimization. Furthermore, due to the frequency plan of the GALILEO mission, the activity shall focus on possible radiated Passive Intermodulation (PIM) generated by the antennas and in this respect the activity will develop a modelling tool allowing proper PIM requirements definition and risk mitigation due to the Spread Spectrum nature of navigation signals.
