The camera shall be designed with the goal to minimise mass and volume (in order to impact minimally on the mass and volume of the spacecraft,) and also to minimize power consumption, memory and communication bandwidth (in order to impact minimally on the spacecraft on-board resources). The camera shall be designed keeping in mind the possibility to install it anywhere in a typical spacecraft, from the main body to the solar panels and to the antennas, from the external surfaces to, possibly, the internal surfaces. The main targeted characteristics of the miniaturized camera are:- size no larger than 25 x 25 x 25 mm^3, including optics and excluding baffle, harness and external light source(s) if any;- mass no larger than 50 g including optics and excluding baffle, harness and external light source(s) if any;- space qualified for a wide scenario of applications in space, especially in terms of radiation resistance (e.g. including Jupiter radiation environment);- still images up to a resolution of at least 4 Mpixels; – videos at a programmable rate of up to, at least, 12 frame/s at a minimum of 1 Mpixel resolution;- it shall be interfaced with a central unit inside the spacecraft for images/videos storage and transmission to ground;- the optics shall be exchangeable in order to easily customize the focal length and field of view of the camera according to the mission requirements. Procurement Policy: C(3) = Activity restricted to SMEs RD Entities.
