To perform a field test that simulates in realistic conditions (terrain and illumination) the operation of a rover in an analog near-polar Lunar location. The field test shall allow to experiment with different situational-awareness techniques (SAT) and commanding modes, active and passive optical sensors and the fast recognition of human-made objects (e.g. handrails) All variables affecting quality of the SATs shall be measured and finally an evaluation of the techniques shall be produced.
