The ISVV process followed have been applied extensively in software projects. Yarious limitations have been identified of the current ISVV activities (e.g. the role of the independent validation which is focused on the pure software validation, not addressing thesystem/operational aspects; the verification and validation of configuration data, the usage of the ISVV level, etc).In addition, the current ISVV processes does not address the SW development practices (e.g. the re-use of software is constantly increasing, the use of auto generated software, the usage of model based techniques, the usage of iterative SW development processes, etc). This activity is to explore and suggest suitable VV methods for the ISVV process to Verify and Validate evolution in SW development practices. The activity will further ensure ISVV process compliance with the latest SW development standard. Some evolutions will require RD activities, for example: which ISVV activities to perform in case of use of AGILE/SCRUM life cycle, which ISSV in case of reuse of platform software through configuration of parameters investigation of what should be done wrt operations, OBCPThe implementation of these updates will results in an ISVV handbook that will meet the requirements for upcoming ESA missions, having ISVV processes aligned to current software development practices, and incorporating improvements to the present processes.
