The Joint IOD mission for Active Debris Removal, called Captare, shall demonstrate the capability of capture and safe re-entry of anon-cooperative free floating satellite in LEO deploying robotic technologies. The main objective is to reduce the risk and pave theway for missions, such as the planned ESA e.Deorbit programme, to remove larger non-cooperative objects, which endanger the sustainability of space applications for the future. The mission consists of a satellite (chaser) that is launched by a small launcher, and an already existing space debris (target). This ITT is focussed on the platform design of the chaser, excluding the robotic payload module.
