GNSS sensor stations, part of large GNSS infrastructure, provide the key inputs for the core processing facilities to compute orbit, clocks, ionosphere products and even integrity corrections. Given the low power of the GNSS signals they are sensitive to intentional and non-intentional interference and so protection the capability to detect, mitigate and even locate the interferer is becomingof growing importance to guarantee sufficient robustness to the Ground Segment, ensure protection to the service delivery or allow quick reaction from the service provider and minimum disruption of the performance. Previous work done so far has focused on unintentional interference mitigation and characterization, although various research line are being pursued, showing promising capability,at least at conceptual level, to increase the robustness also with respect to the intentional one and to support identification of the source. But none of these capabilities is so far implemented in real sensor stations. The activity shall perform a broad search on suitable techniques for the detection, mitigation and location of the interference performing trade-off between the complexity ofthe technology and the performance, the possibility to build in the features into the Sensor Station itself or have dedicated equipment/infrastructure elements. Scenarios for the assessment and realistic environment condition shall be defined, performance assessed via simulations, necessary tools defined and implemented. Tasks: – Definition of scenarios/ assumptions/conditions – Definition of interference type/characteristics – Detection/mitigation/localization techniques /assumptions on the equipment – Analysis of the performance/tools and simulations.
