ESA would be interested in a study mapping the capabilities of new platforms to the expected user needs for microgravity and space experimentation in the future. The main domains to be addressed are the Life Sciences (Biology and Human Research) and Physical Sciences (Fundamental Physics, Fluid Physics and Material Sciences). The field is not limited uniquely to microgravity, since also otherspace conditions (vacuum, radiation) can be the driver for the research. Potential researchers could come from traditional academia, but also from industrial or commercial third parties. The objective of this study is:. Identify typical, representative users offuture microgravity and space platforms. Identify specific needs and requirements for these users. Identify possible future microgravity platforms satisfying these requirements. Develop possible scenarios, including ROM costing and availability, for using these platforms by ESA
