There are different ways on how the food fraud can be committed, for instances, the ingredients can be substituted with one of a lower value, or the food label can be distorted to provide false information or the food can be counterfeited. What is in common of the different ways of how the fraud is perpetuated is that these acts do not happen by chance and that they bring economic advantage to the perpetuator and cause deception of the consumers. The prevention and detection of food fraud is not only an important ethical matter, it is an issue which impacts the global economy as well as the health of the citizens. The objective of the Feasibility Study is to carry out an in-depth analysis on the technical feasibility and economic viability of new services and solutions which are related to the prevention, detection and fight of Food and Beverage Fraud and that have the objective of creating possibilities for asustainable future. Such services shall benefit from utilizing space-based data.
