This EXPRO+ procurement is part of the NAVISP Programme, under Elelment 1, Work Plan 2018.The activity “Artificial Intelligence / Machine learning sensor fusion algorithms for autonomous vessel navigation” aims studying autonomous vessel navigation through thedevelopment of a PNT test platform where artificial intelligence algorithms for sensor fusion can be prototyped and benchmarked. The PNT test platform will constitute an initial tool available to ESA, industry and third parties to test future options for maritimeautonomous vessel navigation.The objectives of this activity are to: – Study artificial intelligence and machine learning techniques for the combined use of multiple sensors in maritime PNT receivers for autonomous vessel navigation; – Implement a proof-of-concept prototype autonomous navigation PNT receiver using the techniques identified; – Study the feasibility of implementing an autonomous vessel navigation PNT service leveraging current and future European GNSS using the techniques identified.
