The activity will perform an ex ante assessment of the social and economic benefits that could be delivered by the future exploration missions under consideration in ESAs reference missions roadmap of the European Exploration Envelope Programme (E3P). The goal is to provide an ex ante socio-economic evidence base to support the prioritisation, planning and development of future missions; to prepare a process that allows measurement of the socio-economic impact of E3P missions ex post; and to establish a European academiccompetency in the social and economic benefits of space exploration, which can support the programme in the future. The detailed objectives of the activity are:1)Identify the potential socio-economic benefits that could result from future missions in the ESA Reference Exploration Roadmap 2)Project the potential value and impact of those benefits on various timescales3)Identify dependencies for the realisation of those benefits in terms of the definition of the missions and external conditions4)Propose approaches for ex post socio-economic impact assessments to evaluate the delivered benefits after implementation.
