The EXOBIOLOGY Facility is the new ESA facility developed for supporting exobiology experiments on the ISS. As outcome of the ILSRA2009 exercise, seven experiments, namely BIOSIGN, MASE-in-Space, ICEcube, RISE, GENESISS, EXOcube and OREOcube, have been selected for implementation and therefore will be accommodated on the EXOBIOLOGY Facility. More in detail, the experiments EXOcube, ICEcube and OREOcube will require in-situ measurement with the use of an UV-Vis Spectrometer. To prepare for the development of the EXOBIOLOGY facility, ground units of the UV-Vis spectrometer will be studied, manufactured and tested as precursor of the flight units to be installed in the EXOBIOLOGY facility.
