The ESA Technology Transfer Programme Office (TTPO), part of the Directorate of Technical and Quality Management (D-TEC), supports the transfer of technology from space. For many years the TTPO has contracted out the Implementation of the ESA Technology Transfer Brokers’ Network, whose principal task is the mediation between technology providers and technology receivers. This contract is ending up but it is the intention of this activity to continue its main tasks. The network of brokers, called the Technology Transfer Network (TTN), consists of brokers situated in several European Countries (ESA Member States). ESA appoints a Prime to set-up, coordinate, manage and stimulate the Broker Network. The role of the Prime is to support the brokers in any aspect that is needed to achieve the targets and objectives of the Broker Network. The overall objectives of this activity are to: – Increase the amount of Technology Transfer from ESA MS space contractors, and from ESA itself, to non-space industry; – Capture and effectively promote the benefits of Space Technology Transfer to potential participants and stakeholders in ESA Member States and internationally; – Create and promote Technology Transfer Initiative in ESA Member States.
