To implement a Business Incubation Center with the goal to facilitate and foster the incubation of start-up companies developing space related applications, services, and products. The set-up of this Business Incubation/Acceleration Center in Switzerland is fullysupported by the Swiss delegation through the Swiss Space Office (SSO). The Business Incubation Centre Switzerland shall focus on businesses with high growth potential, both in terms of market size and global reach beyond Switzerland. It is not the goal to fill the slots as quickly as possible, but to find and actively manage businesses that have this potential. The Centre shall build on existing and proven structures in the respective hosting area, supported by existing agreements with local and regional governments and private investors. The overall goal of SSO is to cluster all space applications, services and product activities in Switzerland in order to create more synergies between them, whilst at the same time to achieve economy of scope, saving on networking and operating costs. The Centre may also manage on top of the incubation activities, business acceleration activities through GSTP and/or IAP. Regarding the selection of the responsible organisation, ESA is requested to organise a limited national tender for Swiss business innovation organisations and to select the most appropriate bidder to implement and manage the Business Incubator Centre Switzerland forthe next 5 years. It is intended to have the Centre operational by Summer 2016.
