The purpose of the proposed activity is to prepare the technology in support of future Thermal InfraRed Imager. The subject of the proposed procurement is to validate instrument concepts by breadboarding of the critical elements. The activity will be divided in two Phases: 1. A Study Phase for trade-off of concepts, definition of a baseline instrument design and establishment of pre-development requirements. 2. A Pre-development Phase for validation at TRL5 of critical technologies, with an emphasis on optics and focal plane.
