Currently there is in Europe neither an off-the-shelf dual flow bipropellant latching valve nor is there one under development. Latch valves are required for any bipropellant (e.g. NTO/MMH) propulsion system. Strictly speaking it is not necessary to use dual flowlatch valves, since however both fuel and oxidizer are always required simultaneously it makes from system point of view sense to use dual flow latch valves providing simultaneous supply of oxidizer and fuel. The goal of the activity is to increase the TRL on theequipment of a Dual Flow Bipropellant Latching Valve. The objective of this activity is the design, manufacturing, development and testing of an engineering valve model for the use with standard propellants (e.g. N2H4, MMH and N2O4). The compatibility with green propellants would be an asset. The activity shall include a requirement definition from a qualified source, demonstrate fast response times (e.g. < 10ms), excellent leak tightness after a representative life cycle and at temperature extremes and completion of a PDR datapack.
