Update Reason: Tender issue

The Objective(s) of the Activity will be:- Review the definition of the CDMA codes and signal structure proposed in the SoW (initially compatible with CCSDS 415.1-B-1) in order to verify its feasibility and adequacy for the GS in MSPA link scenarios. These include the Telecommand transmission, Telemetry reception and the Ranging signal. The need for a lineariser in the GS transmitter, therequired chip rates and the supported symbol rates will be assessed at this point. All the time in synergy with the parallel studyperformed for the on-board system and the subsequent work performed by the related on-board system study contractor. Acquisition procedures and the effects of Doppler compensation and uplink pre-steering will be considered. Some differences to adapt to the MSPAscenarios have been identified. The need for higher chip rates and lower maximum symbol rates need to be considered to reduce theMAIand the impact of the near-far effect. A different approach has to be considered in the case of higher data rate in the downlink, because the processing gain (ratio between chip rate and data rate) is not large enough.- Perform the architectural design of the uplink GS CDMA signal modulator to provide support to the MSPA scenarios. The architectural design of the lineariser in the GS transmitter will also be performed if needed.- Perform the architectural design of the downlink GS CDMA signal receiver (or what would be required for higher data rate) to provide support to the MSPA scenarios.- Design, develop and test the bread board of the GSCDMA modem critical technologies identified during the architectural design in order to facilitate its implementation in the operational GS modem TTCP.The breadboard testing activity shall cover the GS performances verification for the uplink transmittingand downlink receiving functions as well as ranging.Procurement Policy: C(2) = A relevant participation (in terms of quality and quantity) of non-primes (incl. SMEs) is required. For additional information please go to EMITS news “Industrial Policy measures for non-primes, SMEs and RD entities in ESA programmes”.
