The objective of this activity is to create a S/W framework that allows a safeexploitation of AI technologies within mission automationDescription: Most Automation systems deployed for spacecraft operations are simple, deterministic and highly reliable. They are mostly designed to do repetitive tasksbased on deterministic events. They use to halt the operation in case of unexpectedanomalies giving back control to the operators for manual intervention. Nextgeneration of satellites are being built with increasing on-board autonomy and insome cases are becoming part of constellations. Classical way of operations, whereevery single satellite is operated by a team, with different teams managing thedifferent subsystems and the ground segment, will not fit either technically orcommercially in such a future environment.
