EO users need to manage a continuously increasing volume of data, and it is necessary to support them in discovering, accessing andexploiting such amount of data. In addition to data discovery and access functions, the users also need to be kept well-informed about data quality they are going to access and then process, as the quality of the original data significantly impact on results and performed analysis. This is particularly true for land monitoring services, where specific requirements focusing on continuous change monitoring exist. This project aims at addressing the technology needs for a Quality Control Metadata Management Systems, in support of the new generation of land monitoring services. This shall include a survey about use cases, applicable specifications and alternatives to current operational practices in QC management. The project shall deliver an Open Source Software (OSS) system to be deployed in operational land monitoring campaigns for QC Metadata Management in synergy with the experiences and results of both EEA project on Land Cover Continuous Monitoring (LCCM) and Copernicus Land Monitoring Service (CLMS).
