G-BAND SPACEBORNE RADAR INSTRUMENT FOR ATMOSPHERIC MISSIONS – EXPRO+
20, May 2022

ESA Open Invitation to Tender: 1-11317
Open Date: 06/05/2022 15:32 CEST
Closing Date: 01/07/2022 13:00 CEST

Recently, G-band has successfully been investigated with a ground based radar in Europe, and with an airborne radar. After these successful G-band radar experiments, the time has come to envisage a spaceborne mission based on a G-band radar instrument. It is proposed in this activity to identify technological hurdles related to the development of a G-band spaceborne radar instrument for atmospheric missions. The objectives of the activity are to identify technological gaps corresponding to the development of a G-band radar instrument for atmospheric missions. These technological gaps shall be inferred from a top down approach, ie from the EO mission requirements up to the radar instrument item specifications.
