Currently the Columbus Deck 4 (D4) location is occupied by a passive stowage rack, the European Transport Carrier (ETC), which accommodates approximately 1 m3 of ESA stowage. This location is also passive, with no utilities available at the rack location Utility Interface Panel (UIP). New, long term stowage locations have been identified in Columbus in the end-cone areas and in the areas between the deck system racks and the module shell. This stowage will be allocated to equipment which is seldom used to avoid impacts tocrew resources. This procurement includes the development of a simple support platform equipped to accommodate a host of box-type orcabin aisle payloads with resources to be derived from adjacent rack locations (harness and flexhose splitters and controls), in the most simple and lightest way.
