Platforms provide customers with an environment that allows them to focus on their core business and to outsource other aspects in an economically attractive manner to a platform operator that provides these services to a large number of customers with similar needs. The success of platforms in the business world is based on their ability to minimise costs and the time to market for their customers, reducing thereby also the risk of exploring unproven business cases. The objective of the present tender is for an industrially operated platform service, built as an extension of previously existing operational acquisition capabilities, with a published service catalogue and a commercial offering in order to support value adders in exploring Near Real Time (NRT) business cases by providing them combined access to NRT data and processing resources in a cloud environment where they can host their algorithms and applications. The capability shall demonstrate with a rich offering of different space data sources and with suitable business models (including agreements with the acquisition operator and the relevant satellite data owners for the instrument data supply) to exploit NRT business opportunities quickly at minimum financial risk, and to be scalable to provide the operational service on a fully commercial basis.
