The GlobTemperature project will focus on improving the uptake of global-scale satellite land surface temperature information by the broad research and operational user communities. The project scope has been defined based on user requirements collected following the GlobTemperature User Consultation meeting held in Edinburgh on 27-28 June 2012 (see www.globtemperature.info). Activities under the GlobTemperature project include: user driven LST product development and processing maximising the use of European satellite mission data, product validation, intercomparison and quality assessment, satellite data merging, land surface model verification,development of a prototype LST climate data record, and construction of an LST information portal.
