To design, develop and install a prototype of a ground media calibration system for the Ground Stations of the ESA Deep Space Network. The media calibration system shall employ atmospheric sensors (GNSS receivers, Microwave radiometers and meteorological equipment) to reduce the error induced by the troposphere of the earth on observables of ranging techniques used by navigation and radioscience experiments in science missions(range, range rate/Doppler, VLBI/Delta DOR). The system validation will be performed using Bepi-Colombo observables mission in a test-bed independent from operations. Procurement Policy: C(1) = Activity restricted to non-prime contractors (incl. SMEs). For additional information please go to EMITS news “Industrial Policy measures for non-primes, SMEs and R&D entities in ESA programmes”.
