During operation of mechanical test facilities, as shakers, shock bench and acoustic test facility, measurement signals coming fromaccelerometers, load cells, microphones and other type of sensors have to be acquired for the test facility and item under test. These measurement signals are pre-conditioned and recorded. Online displays as well as online and post processing functionality allowdata analysis during and after the test execution.In the ESTEC test centre a modular and customisable data acquisition system (MDH) is operated which provides 512 channels parallel recording and provides input cards for Analogue, ICP, microphones and strain gauges. The current MDH facility was installed in 2003 and reached the indicated end of lifetime.The main objective of this activity is design, build and install at ESTEC a new, state-of-the-art modular data acquisition system (MDH) for mechanical test data with approx. 816 measurement channels. It includes the delivery and installation of the specified data acquisition hardware, the delivery, installation and on-site acceptance testing of the data acquisition software and all specified hardware components (e.g. patch panels, cables, etc.).
