The objective of the activity is the development of new deep space Ka band up converter and down converter .The purpose of the development is to reduce the cost of investment and maintenance of Ka band up and down frequency converters. In addition the new Ka band down converter shall support wideband ranging capability and the operational bandwidth shall be at least 500 MHz. The IF of thedownconverter shall be compatible with the new ESA receiver (1550 MHz).
