The Copernicus Data Policy pursues open and free access to Sentinel products for any user. In the current operations context, it is projected that the volume of Sentinel data available to users will increase at a rate of approximately 10PB per year once the Sentinels missions will have reached their full operational capacity. While open distribution of the Copernicus data and information is actively promoted, the European Commission (COM) and ESA aim at offering to users the capability to exploit Copernicus data and information without the complexity and the cost associated to its transfer and storage on user side. In this respect, the European Commission envisages the creation of the Copernicus Data and Information Access Services Operations (DIAS), making Copernicus data and information available to users through a cloud-based architecture. The scope of this ITT is the procurement of the Copernicus DIAS back-office operations as a service. This includes in particular the availability of Copernicus data and information for local use on the Copernicus DIAS platform by users and the establishment and operations of the interfaces enabling an efficient access to the Copernicus DIAS data offer. ESA envisages to award several contracts for the DIAS as outcome of this ITT. The contract duration is foreseen to be 4 years with an optional annual extension. In order to access the ITT package from EMITS, a bidder must be registered in ESA STAR as a potential ESA supplier. More information on how to register, is readily available on: http://www.esa.int/About_Us/Business_with_ESA/esa-star_open_for_business. While the registration process is underway, bidders may access the ITT Package through ESA’s dedicated Copernicus server, which is accessible at: https://copernicus-emits.esa.int
