ESA operates a network of ground stations called ESTRACK to support its mission operations. After a major restructuring ESTRACK consists today of 7 stations that host 9 terminals. These consist of three Deep Space Stations at Cebreros (Spain) with terminal 35m CEB-1, Malargüe (Argentina), with terminal 35m MLG-1, New Norcia (Western Australia), with terminals 35m NNO-1 and 4.5m NNO-2; and theNear Earth Stations in Kiruna (Sweden) with terminals 15m KIR-1 and 13m KIR-2, Kourou (French Guiana) with terminal 15m KRU-1, Redu(Belgium) with terminal 15m RED-1 and Santa Maria of the Azores (Portugal) with terminal 5.5m SMA-1. In addition ESTRACK owns a smallX-band terminal, which as a customer furnished item is installed in Malindi (Kenya) as 2m MAL-X.ESTRACK requires regular upgrades of its antenna systems to support new mission requirements and to replace obsolete equipment. These activities will be performed by an industrial support contract covering system level performances re-testing, refurbishment, upgrading and any other post-engineeringactivities required. The support also includes integration of new subsystems and equipment, documentation update, configuration ofthe communication facility. Procurement and repair of spare parts for all the front-end sub-systems and equipment are also included. The support of the network upgrades will be performed by means of Work Orders on a Firm Fixed Price basis. Each Work Order will cover an integration task including configuration control and documentation update.
