Mission Planning can be considered a task where multiple systems, centres, people … (e.g. Principal Investigators, external Agencies, etc) collaborate sending their requests. These request shall need to be consolidated into a master plan that is eventually transformed into tele-commands sent to the spacecraft. The Mission Operations Planning Systems
MO-MPS) receives requests from S/C operations, S/C manoeuvres, payload operations, etc. This interaction is accomplished via files sent by means of a File Transfer System (FTS), direct connection to the MPS (GUI), or other means. The Science Operations Centre (SOC) represents an external generic userofthe MO-MPS. The MO-MPS will receive the payload planning information in the form of command input request from the SOC. Additionally, the SOC runs the Scientific Mission Planning System (S-MPS), responsible for the generation of schedules containing telecommandsthat need to be uploaded to the spacecraft following further processing by the MO-MPS. Therefore, while both systems run independently, the building blocks and features that need to fullfil are quite the same. At the same time it is to be noted that, for each newmission, these systems need to be implemented (with different levels of reusability) and fully integrated in order to exchange the information to be eventually sent to the spacecraft. This study will focus on these two aspects to identify synergies across existing solutions at the time that promotes their consolidation into a combined Mission Planning System.
