BIOMASS is ESAs 7th Earth Explorer mission. The mission was selected for implementation in 2012 and is foreseen for launch in 2022. BIOMASS is implemented as a single platform repeat pass interferomteric P-band SAR mission operated in a simple stripmap mode acquiring global data in a predefined orbit scenario.One of the secondary mission objective of Biomass is to provide information on thetopography below forests.The objective of this study is to develop the prototypes of (1) a stacking algorithm for fine co-registration and residual ionosphere phase correction of the image stacks and (2) the topographic information retrieval algorithm.
