The industrial SIM Phase-A/B parallel industrial contracts will cover the following objectives:- Refinement of the technical design of the SIM, including: design, modelling, justification.- Consolidation of the SIM interfaces the SC.- Overall system engineering of the SIM, including co-engineering with the instruments consortia for converging to a robust overall development approach and consolidation of interfaces.- Definition and optimisation of the SIM implementation scheme, by taking into account potential programmatic constraints from ESA.- Consolidation of SIM requirements and their decomposition in consistency with the preferred implementation scheme.- As needed, RFI campaign to consolidate the implementation scheme approach.- Definition of the Development and Verification Plan of the SIM, including definition of the subsystem layer, model philosophy and verification approach by taking into account the instruments, and overall development schedule integrating the instruments schedule needs.- Production of the technical data package concluding the SIM Phase A/B activities (PDR level).- Elaboration of the baseline schedule on the basis of the project planning.- Risk analysis and cost estimate for the baseline SIM. The level of detail of the cost estimate shall enable the contractor toprovide a binding offer for the following Phase C/D- PA and QA planning.- Support of the MAR.
