MACHINE LEARNING METHODS FOR DESIGN AND OPERATION OF CHEMICAL SPACE PROPULSION ENGINES
21, June 2022

ESA Open Invitation to Tender: 1-11385
Open Date: 03/06/2022 11:45 CEST
Closing Date: 12/08/2022 13:00 CEST

This activity aims for developing a prototype of a design and development process by using machine learning methods. To achieve this, the tasks required are considered to be:-Definition of the requirements for the design and development process using the machine learning methods. Since those requirements are different for the different learning methods and application topics, different application topics (e.g. cooling or injection) are to be investigated.-Summary of available test case data and definition of application domains of the machine learning method within this activity. This should include the assessment of different propellant combinations for the different methods and should identify as many test data as possible. -Programming, setup and configuration of the machine learning methods. -Training of the machine learning routines based on the identified test data. -Usage of the routines for at least three application topics and testing the prediction for those configurations. -Identification of future development steps and gathering this in a development plan for machine learning methods based software tool for rocket engine designsProcurement Policy: C(2) = A relevant participation (in terms of quality and quantity) of non-primes (incl. SMEs) is required. For additional information please go to this link.
