The European Space Research and Technology Centre (ESTEC) covers 40 Ha of land and hosts offices for 2,700 people working daily onsite. There are roads on the site that are more than 30 years old and with an increase in traffic occurring some roads are degrading quite rapidly with potholes and fissures/cracks. In recent years, punctual repairs have been made to keep the roads in use, but has never gone through major refurbishment. In the addition of the asphalt refurbishment, the Agency would also like to increase the permeable area on site. This part of the project will be optional.This work will be carried out in four different locations of roads around the ESTEC site. The roads are used every day by ESTEC population, visitors or suppliers. The major part of the work consists of milling, sweeping and overlaying the selected areas with a new top layer of asphalt. The estimated scope is 8700 m2 of asphalt including 3 speed bumps.The work is to be initiated in summer 2021 and to be completed in 3 months.
