The objective of this activity is to investigate, design, develop, manufacture and test a tribology free flexible mechanism elementwith integrated sensor for position and also potentially health monitoring. The output shall becompatible with flexible pivot mechanisms and achieve at least TRL3 status, with testing and delivery of a critical element Bread Board.Although not part of the component to be developed, the aspects necessary to monitor the signal, and perform the testing (EGSE MGSE) shall be duly considered by the contractor. To ensure maximum utility of the targeted technology, collaboration between companies specialising in compliant mechanisms and integrated sensors is encouraged. It is also highlighted that involvement of companies familiar with sensor signalprocessing electronics on S/C (data handling) could be beneficial.
