The work starts from activities performed on several space projects that saw a factive benefit from the application of Big Data andArtificial Intelligence techniques. In particular, as a background, the work done on an ISS module, processed through the above techniques, has permitted to reveal new correlations and, in general, new findings on the system behaviors starting from TM analysis ofthe system. Such experience lead to identify as a required improvement the need to have models that describes the system as early as possible, ideally even before the system is in orbit. This lead to the idea of applying and transferring similar concepts and approaches already during AIT/AIV phase, exploiting data therein generated.
